What is a Goon Tracker?
A community tool that collects player reports of the Goons — the boss trio Knight, Big Pipe, and Birdeye — so you know which map they were last seen on before you load into a raid.
Which maps do the Goons spawn on?
Customs, Woods, Shoreline, Lighthouse, and (per community reports) Streets of Tarkov. They spawn as a squad on one map at a time and rotate every few hours.
How fresh is the data?
Every sighting shows its age and a freshness badge: fresh (under 30 minutes), aging (30 minutes to 2 hours), or stale (over 2 hours). Old reports expire automatically.
Does it work for PvE?
Yes. Use the PvP/PvE toggle on the tracker — sightings are tracked separately per mode.
How to find the Goons without a tracker
Prefer hunting them yourself? The Goons spawn on Lighthouse, Customs, Woods, Shoreline, and Streets of Tarkov as a single squad on one map at a time. To find them manually:
- Check their known zones: Water Treatment on Lighthouse, Cottages on Shoreline, Stronghold on Customs, USEC Camp on Woods.
- Listen for heavy footsteps and their unique voice lines.
- Watch for dead scavs or PMCs in unusual spots — signs of a recent Goon fight.
- Play during peak hours for more live data from other players.
Best loadouts for hunting Goons
Budget loadouts
- Class 4 armor (Korund, 6B23).
- SKS or Vepr Hunter with PS or BP ammo.
- A basic headset for audio cues.
Advanced loadouts
- Class 5–6 armor (TV-110, Hexgrid).
- HK416, M4, or MDR with M995 or M855A1.
- Thermal or long-range scopes for Birdeye.
- Grenades and a full med kit (CMS, Salewa, Hemostats).
How Goon spawn mechanics work
- Spawn maps: Lighthouse, Shoreline, Customs, Woods, Streets of Tarkov.
- Spawn chance: around 20–30% per eligible map per raid — roughly 1 in 4–5 raids.
- Movement: they patrol their spawn zones but will chase you nearby once aggroed.
- Server restarts: reset spawn chances, so early raids after a restart are good for hunting.
- Other bosses: the Goons usually do not spawn if another boss (e.g. Reshala) is present.
Can I avoid the Goons if I'm not ready?
Yes. If you are not geared for the fight:
- Use low-traffic routes away from known spawn zones.
- Leave the area if you hear heavy footsteps or grenade sounds.
- Run scav raids for safe looting.
- Learn their unique voice lines for early warning.
- Avoid night raids unless you have NVGs.
Do the Goons chase you?
Yes. Once aggroed they coordinate: Big Pipe pushes with heavy guns, Birdeye snipes from distance, and Knight flanks with grenades. They will chase you inside their spawn zone until you leave or eliminate them.
